Coordinator of Public Relations & Fundraising

The South Cariboo Health Foundation is looking for a candidate for the position of "Coordinator of Public Relations and Fundraising.


Public Relations:

  • Develop & distribute creative communications about the work of the Foundation and donation opportunities.
  • arrange advertising campaigns and news coverage with the media for foundation activities, this includes being interviewed for news coverage.
  • Confer with hospital managers regarding the purchase of equipment or funding for capital projects

Events: Organize and implement current fundraising events - such as Starry Nights hospital lights display and research new and innovative fundraising events.

Grants: Identify potential corporate or charitable donors and fill out grant applications.

Donor Management: fill out receipts, thank you letters, memorial cards and update donor spread sheet.

Administration: Attend monthly Board meeting and report on month’s activities. Answer foundation cell phone. Pick up mail from hospital reception areas mail and donations.

Key Skills: Organization & administrative skills, Creative Thinking, Effective problem solving, Superior interpersonal & communication skills, verbal & written, Ability to work independently and be flexible & responsible, Knowledge of fundraising techniques, information sources & strategies. Basic computer skills and familiarity with social media opportunities


  • Education in business, management, marketing and/or public relations an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in fundraising preferred
  • Previous experience working in a not-for-profit environment. This position is accountable to the Board with a primary working relationship with the chairperson.
